Confidence

You know, no matter what we do, there’s always some arrogant naysayer in the crowd who throws rotten tomatoes while making a big fuss. Instead of supporting their fellow artists, these kind of people try to make enough noise to draw the attention to themselves instead.

This isn’t limited to writers and artists. It happens in life, too often sometimes. But you know what? If you give in and allow the rotten tomatoes to ruin your personal progress, then you don’t have the confidence to continue anyway.

Doubt is part of the creative process as much as it’s a part of life choices. Feed doubt and doubt grows. Feed confidence and– guess what?– confidence grows.

Don’t let the hecklers and the naysayers bring you down. Arrogance is an attitude choice and you don’t have to play into it. Push negativity away. Embrace the positive and, good grief, have confidence in yourself and your work. If you don’t, who will?

This post is dedicated to every arrogant naysayer everywhere. The more noise you make, the more people pay attention. It all works out in the end.

Live. Love. Write.
